Storytelling ​​​with ​​​​​​​​​​​Light !

The objective of "Classic Car" project is to meticulously compile an illustrated chronicle of classic cars, elucidating their various stages of restoration. It was of paramount importance to accentuate the visual allure, allowing one to truly immerse themselves in the evocative essence of these vehicles, while also capturing the ambiance of the restoration shop through adept utilization of lighting techniques during its execution. Finally, the meticulous preparation and photography processes for this undertaking spanned one month. Situated in Tehran, this renovation site was documented through photography in the year 2021.​​​​​​​

As the project commenced, meticulous preparations and scene arrangements were made. When we approached the car's body to begin our work, my attention was immediately captivated by the fabric gracefully draped upon it. The assistants promptly proceeded to remove the cloth, gradually unveiling the car beneath. In that moment, a surge of inspiration reminiscent of fashion photography flooded my mind. Spontaneously, I asked them to only partially remove the fabric, ensuring that the enigmatic charm remained intact. The once inert and lifeless shell of the car, initially lacking photographic allure, transformed into the embodiment of a captivating image.

​​​​​​​When we arrived to photograph the Volvo body in its early stages of restoration, I felt a deep sense of concern. How could we capture the essence of this empty body, which lacked inherent attractiveness for photography? Moreover, the unappealing environment posed an additional challenge. Nonetheless, I realized that the only solution was to create an improvised lighting design to overcome the limitations imposed by the surrounding space. I carefully selected a neglected corner in the restoration shop, where a suitable light maneuver could be executed. With the assistance of my team, we implemented the lighting design, and the outcome exceeded our expectations.​​​​​​​
